About CoursesQ. What are the courses provided by Mandarin Plus? A. We offer small group and individual courses, both for short term and long term. (Click here to view all courses that we have).
Q. How many different levels of Mandarin lessons are there? A. We offer 5 main levels for the general Mandarin program, from absolute beginner to advance.
Q. When does the course start? A. Courses can start on any Monday, depending on the class and students' availability.
Q. How do I know my level? A. There is a placement test consisting of a written grammar test and an oral interview. Based on this test, you will be placed into an appropriate class.
Q. How do I track my progress? A. At the end of every level, your teacher will evaluate your progress and make recommendations for you to advance to the next level.
Q. Will I get a certificate / acknowledgement for the lessons I take? A. Yes, after you accomplish the course there will be a certificate to acknowledge your participation and completion of the course.
About VisaQ. Which type of visa should I apply for? A. You should apply for a F Visa (for cultural purpose) using your flight tickets and our confirmation of acceptance letter before entering China. This visa is normally valid for 30 to 90 days. You can also apply for L Visa (tourist visa), which is also normally valid for 30 to 90 days.
Q. Can you provide JW201 or JW202 forms? A. We do not provide these forms. JW201 and JW202 forms are for those students who attend academic programs in universities.
Q. What if I cannot get the visa to cover the whole period of the program? A. We will help you to find a qualified visa agent in China to extend your visa.
Q. Can I work (part time / full time employment/internship) using my visa? A. You cannot use an L visa for employment purpose; you will need to use the correct visa for employment or internship. Do you arrange accommodations when I join your program? A. We provide a variety of accommodations: single room in shared apartment, private studio apartments, service apartments, hostel or hotel accommodations, or a sty with a host family. Q. What can I do in my free time? A. We arrange various after class activities and weekend excursions. We offer a variety of cultural and sport activities each month to provide even more opportunities for you to practice your Chinese and learn about the culture in China.
Q. What are the volunteer activities you mentioned in the program? A. We arrange a series of activities during your free time, either to teach English (or your native language) or to participate in NGO/NPO related works. There will be a stipend for the time you contribute. Your program fee may also be reduced by participating in volunteer activities.
About Financial Support OptionQ. If I want to teach a language for 20hrs/week to save my accommodation fee, what shall I fill in while registrating online? A. While registrating online, you can tick "yes" on the "scholarship" application option. After receiving your application, we will ask you for the details and resume to be sent per email.
About PaymentQ. How can I pay? A. Full Payment must be paid no later than 4 weeks prior to your start date. You can pay by bank transfer, PayPal or credit card.
Q. If I cannot get the visa, will the program tuition be refunded for cancellation? A. In the case that you cannot obtain a visa, we will refund your paid program tuition with a cancellation fee.
